Mercédès Baillargeon is an Associate Professor at the University of Massachusetts Lowell in the Department of World Languages and Cultures.
A native of Montréal, Canada, Baillargeon came to the United States to complete her Ph.D. at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Prior to joining UMass Lowell, she was associate professor in the School of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures at the University of Maryland.
Mercédès Baillargeon’s research focuses on two main areas; contemporary women's writing, feminism, gender and sexuality studies, and the intersection of public and private. She is also interested in Québec cinema, especially its relationship to national and personal identity.
She is the author of “Le Personnel est politique: médias, esthétique et politique de l'autofiction chez Christine Angot, Chloé Delaume et Nelly Arcan” (Purdue UP, 2019). She is co-editor (with Karine Bertrand, Queen's University, Kingston, Canada) of a special issue of the journal "Contemporary French Civilization" on the topic of the transnationalism of Québec cinema and (new) media (2019) as well as a special issue of the journal "Nouvelles Vues: revue sur les pratiques, les théories et et l'histoire du cinéma au Québec” on intercultural encounters in Québec cinema (2022).

Dan Frank is a filmmaker and Assistant Professor of Film & TV Production at Endicott College.
He has produced and directed television series, narrative and documentary films, commercials, marketing, and educational programs.
His work has aired on PBS, Discovery, FOX, Amazon, HGTV, DIY, FX, TLC, NBC Universal, New England Sports Network, and more.
Films that he's produced or directed has screened at numerous film festivals, including IFFBoston, Woodstock, Karlovy Vary International Film Festival, Sarajevo, New Hampshire, Slamdance, Vancouver Asian Film Festival, Virginia, Ann Arbor, New Orleans, and Big Sky.
He is an Executive Producer of Divia, a Ukrainian feature-length documentary that premiered in 2025 and has since screened around the world. It was nominated for an International Documentary Association (IDA) award.

He brings this experience to the Lowell Film Festival where he is responsible for and contributes to audience and student filmmaker research, creative insights, brand position, website design and development, and funding. Without his contributions, LFF would not be growing and vital film festival.
Glenn received his undergraduate degree from the University of Massachusetts Lowell. He returned to UML to create a business plan student competition at University of Massachusetts He received an MA from the MIT Sloan School.

Tyler Theus is a Visiting Lecturer and the Instructor for the Lowell Film Festival Course at the University of Massachusetts Lowell
Theus is a film scholar working in the areas of post-war art cinema and contemporary film aesthetics. Theus received his undergraduate degree in Philosophy and Film Studies at Georgia State University, and an MA and PhD in Modern Culture and Media from Brown University.
His dissertation focused on contemporary forms of cinematic realism. He has written and presented on slow cinema, psychoanalysis, realist film theory and the work of David Lynch. His current project is on the persistence of art cinema in the 21st Century.
